On Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in a case tried before Judge Di Vito in Philadelphia County, the jury returned a defense verdict on behalf of Imperial Security, represented by Angelo L. Scaricamazza, a partner at our Philadelphia office. The case involved allegations that a security guard in the employ of Imperial had caused long-term neurological and psychological damage to the plaintiff by striking him in the head with a security radio during an altercation outside of the former Benny the Bum's restaurant and lounge which was located near South Philadelphia's sports complex.
During the course of the trial, Angelo argued that the plaintiff had instigated the altercation and that the Imperial security guard was acting in self-defense. Furthermore, he argued that evidence did not support the alleged long-term damages claimed by the plaintiff. The jury found in favor of Imperial Security, represented by Angelo Scaricamazza, Esq. Throughout the preparation and litigation stages of the case, Angelo was assisted by Christine R. Guiliano, an associate attorney at the Philadelphia office. The case was tried before Judge Di Vito in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Monday, December 13, 2010 until Tuesday, December 21, 2010.
